Alabama Contemporary’s residency program is designed so that the artist may grow their practice and provide space to experiment outside their typical work. The program offers free studio space and use of the facilities to two artist per two-year period, culminating in an exhibition and/or performance of their work at the end of the residency. The Artist In Residence (AIR) program is part of an ongoing commitment to grow and sustain creative practice in the region. By supporting artists, we support community and culture-building for the South, and redefine ourselves and what is possible here.
This year we are fortunate to have been able to grow our residency program to accommodate two working artists! The 2022-24 Artists In Residence are June Reddix-Stennis and Jeremy Hobdy. Look for more information about these artists and their practices in the coming months as they get settled into their studio spaces.
Thanks to all who applied and are contributing to this arts community. If you are interested in applying for this program, check back in 2025.
