Sunprints Workshop

Learn about the history of Cyanotypes while enjoying an afternoon of exploration, experimentation, and creative expression. Participants will create up to 5 9″x12″ Cyanotypes of their own which can be the perfect gift, print, greeting card, or gift tag.

Surplus in Pantomime

Inspired by Ben Vereen’s 1981 tribute performance to the great black vaudevillian Bert Williams at the Reagan inaugural gala, Surplus in Pantomime contextualizes abstraction in the broader conversation of black identity. Curated by Y. Malik Jalal, this exhibition shines a light on five black artists working in, and through abstraction.

Caricatures and Clay (Ages 11-15)

Get your hands dirty! Draw your own characters, learn the basics of sketching and illustration, then make it 3D. Campers will experiment with wheel throwing, and create their own ceramic sculptures using clay.

Trash Transformed! (Ages 6-10)

Transform everyday objects into art! Teaching artist Mary Franklin King will help you create art that explores your identity, using mixed media and recycled materials to make one a kind artwork. Students will explore different art mediums including watercolor, sculpture, drawing, mixed media, and movement. Art Camp is held Monday through Friday; the camp ends on Friday with an art reception featuring the work of the campers.

Think Like An Artist Art Sampler (Ages 6-10)

June 27, 2022 – July 1, 2022 @ 8:00 am – 3:00 pm –

Teaching artist Tom Farmer will guide students in exploring different art mediums including watercolor, sculpture, drawing, mixed media, and movement. Art Camp is held Monday through Friday; the camp ends on Friday with an art reception featuring the work of the campers.

Fantastic Animals (Ages 6-10)

Let your creativity roar! Students will create exciting art inspired by the animals around us. Teaching artist Anne H Carr will take you from cave art to contemporary art, campers will use paint, clay, collage, color, and mixed media to create expressive interpretations of animals in the history of art.

Theater Character & Costume Creation (Ages 11-15)

July 11, 2022 – July 15, 2022 @ 8:30 am – 3:30 pm –

Act it up! This camp will focus on exploring emotions through theatrical exercises and creating fun costumes. Students will create their own authentic character, and imagine their wardrobe, make-up, and staging. Bring your personality out and learn to express yourself through theater and acting!
