SCREENING: SHORTS FROM THE  57TH ANN ARBOR FILM FESTIVAL TOUR

Screening the 57th year of the Ann Arbor Film Festival, a pioneer of the film festival touring concept that has been presenting an annual tour of selected works from the festival since 1964. Including experimental, documentary, animation, narrative and hybrid works, AAFF is dedicated to artists who embrace the moving image as an art form.

Word/Play at Ben May Library

Word/Play is a program that encourages children ages 2-5 to create works of art inspired by contemporary children’s literature.

OPERATION TUMBLEWEED

Yoland uses multi channel video installation, performance, text, sculpture, and photography to chronicle the migration and movement of her and the tumbleweed. Yoland playfully approaches a serious topic by re-interpreting the iconic and deeply “American” nature of tumbleweeds, immigration, freedom, and borders. The piece aims to examine personal agency and the fluid nature of identity.

SMALL TALKS: ALL THAT WE WEAR

Quarterly, we host a set of short talks by local makers and enthusiasts on a theme. Think tiny home-grown TED talks. Each speaker gives a 10 minute presentation on a topic that interests them, and then we Q & A the night away.  Hosted by local enthusiast Sean Sullivan, join us to get to know your creative community on a whole new level.
