Since the early 1990s, 309 has been a central spot in the Gulf Coast punk scene. Arguably the oldest continuously inhabited Punk House in the south, 309 and its residents played a role in the American Punk subculture for decades. Now a non-profit run by the artists and archivists that are nearest to it’s legacy, 309 Punk Museum Project seeks to save 309 for the community, for zine and screenprinting workshops, a local punk archive, a recording studio and an Artist in Residence program.
