HACC One Year Anniversary Block Party
The Historic Avenue Cultural Center is hosting a Block Party on October 5th in celebration of HACC’s one year anniversary, that includes pop-up programs to emphasize art and local histories and launches a greater initiative to support entrepreneurship and culture building in the community.
The block party format will highlight local BIPOC owned businesses and center community conversations on sustainable entrepreneurship, its relationship to the arts and its role in neighborhood revitalization. The event will include Djs, Food Trucks, an Art Activity and a BIPOC Maker’s Market outside. Local BIPOC makers, chefs, and business owners will be provided tent space and inclusion at the event through an application process that prioritizes homegrown entrepreneurship and creative placemaking. We are now accepting vendor applications here>>
The event will open to the public at 11am, following the Gulf Coast Challenge Parade hosted by Bishop State on MLK. To kick off the event, we will be hosting a short fire speaker series that includes community advocates, followed a panel discussion on the topic of “The Future of the Avenue” featuring representatives
